In 2022 we completed the development of a multi-grip myoelectric prosthesis dropping the cost even up to 90%
In 2023 we concluded the first stage of our clinical trials with our volunteer's successful control over our bionic device
Using 3D scanners we created and 3D printed a fully customized socket. This procedure was directed by our experienced prosthetist.
Following real-life assessments, we collect critical feedback, aiming to further optimize our bionic hand
Εverything started from an enthusiastic project of building a low-cost 3D printed prosthetic hand.
In a market where a standard price for a prosthetic hand costs tens of thousands, making that financially forbidden for most cases, there is a social need for price reduction to give people access to such technologies.
We were able to achieve that with 3D printing. In 2022 using some of Openbionic's open-source files, we completed the development of a myoelectric prosthetic prototype with only a fraction of today's market cost. In 2023 we concluded our first clinical trial in participation with a volunteer who wanted to try our prosthesis. We aim to develop a further optimized bionic hand that will eventually bridge the gap between people and advanced prosthetics.
